Do you remember when buying an insurance policy made you feel protected? I do. I believed the promise that if I paid my premium, I would be safe. A couple of car accidents in my youth reinforced the idea. Because of that, I started my career in insurance over 20 years ago. At the time, I worked for a company known for service and value, and I was proud of what I was doing. Soon, though, I saw the industry changing. Even my own employer became more interested with increasing profits than serving customers.
I was not satisfied with the way the insurance companies were unilaterally altering claims practices for their own benefits. I tried to change the system from the inside, but that was ineffective. I became an agent to help people shopping for insurance understand their policies better, but it still did not guarantee a positive claim turnout when they eventually needed help. I looked at the Department of Insurance, but they are understaffed, overburdened, and funded by the insurance carriers. I needed a better platform.
That's when I discovered Public Adjusting. I had only come across a Public Adjuster once while working as an Adjuster for the insurance company, but they were minimally involved. I eventually found a firm that seemed to embody my ideals. Unfortunately, that firm lacked focus on the customer experience that I discovered was missing on all sides of the insurance claims world. My time at that firm taught me invaluable lessons in business and service, and I made a number of useful contacts within the industry. I have since run a public adjusting company out of Colorado and managed a branch of another local firm. Along the way, I have seen the changes in the industry, found improved methods of negotiation, and witnessed the pitfalls of greed. I have decided it was time to make a change in the way insurance business is done.
Over the past 20 years, I have managed thousands of claims, claims of all sizes and complexity. I have adjusted commercial losses exceeding a million dollars, multi-family units, homes, and small personal property claims. As a Public Adjuster, I have helped my clients get complex denials overturned, turned claims from amounts that are less than deductibles into full roof replacements, and I have even represented my own HOA in a claim that went from a repair less than $20,000 up to four building getting new roofs valued over $100,000. Every claim is an opportunity to hold the insurance company accountable for what they owe.
In recent years, my experience working for the insurance carriers as a company adjuster has helped me guide clients, coworkers, and my counterparts in the industry. I have participated at the National Association of Public Insurance Adjuster conventions to share my experience with colleagues and collaborate on strategies to improve outcomes. I have served as an expert witness in litigation, and I have settled Appraisals in favor of my clients. Not every claim can be won, but if it should be won, I can help get you that victory.
